I am pleased to continue my collaboration with Deborah Cohen with a recent workshop on how to shadow weave: its history, definition, and how it is woven and designed.  Inspiration for shadow weave motifs are everywhere — Deborah looked specifically at some of interior designer David Hicks’ iconic decorative art to create this potholder based on one of his designs.

Woven on the 27-peg loom, this pattern is fun to do, and has a very cool flip side.

I am pleased to now offer an e-book of the potholder pattern, as well as a recording of the online workshop, the perfect visual partner to guide you through the steps to create your own version of the weaving.

You can purchase the e-book pattern on it's own, just the workshop recording or both (a discount of $5 if you buy both together).

If you are looking for a way to explore your connection with weaving further, this vibrant pattern is perfectly placed to guide you through creating a piece that can be made on my 10 x 10 inch large loom which you can buy here.  Cotton loops to create the pattern can be purchased here.

We hope you love the pattern and enjoy exploring your own color palette and creativity within it. More of Deborah's patterns and guides can be found in her book, In the Loop: Radical Potholder Patterns and Techniques.

Please note this is an e-pattern. An electronic version of the pattern will be sent to you by email upon purchase for you to print at home. If you have also purchased the recording of the workshop, a link to access it will be sent by email too.
