WWC Recording - Discover the many things you can make with potholders once they are off the loom with Deborah Stratton
Originally recorded at the Weaving Way Community meeting in May 2023, we heard from former tailor Deborah Stratton on how inspiration for what to do with our weavings once they are off the loom can come from many places. After taking a class on the Corticelli Crochet Bag, Deborah Stratton wanted to see if she could duplicate a similar design using a woven set of potholders, opening her crafting practice up to creating other bags, purses and pillows with her handweavings.
Not to be limited to small items, Deborah also started to stitch multiple weavings together to create large and durable “fabric”, suitable for upholstery and rug projects.
