How to Create a “Kaleidoscope Butterfly” Weaving Online Workshop - with Terri Frantz
I am delighted to welcome guest teacher Terri Frantz to lead us in online workshop to learn how to create a “Kaleidoscope Butterfly” weaving, a Swedish Technique with a twist!.
Terri loves going down “The Road Not Taken” and she is excited to share a Swedish Technique with which she is currently experimenting. After seeing a Facebook post with a pattern developed by Piglet Evans, Terri looked at the base and decided to add some creative twists and developed this “Kaleidoscope Butterfly”. It has lots of color and is fun to create.
The Swedish technique, Halvdräll is one of the Swedish block weaves and has blocks and weft pattern floats. It means “a poor man’s damask” in Swedish. The base structure is set up in such a way as to create a rich weave. It creates so much texture and fluffy bulk in the weave. It looks difficult but it is a walk in the park to accomplish.
In the 2 hour workshop you will create a Pro loom weaving and a coordinated traditional weaving. We hope you can join us for this fun weave. Two patterns and instructions as well as optional weaves will be provided.
The workshop will take place via Zoom on Saturday, July 15th 2023, 10am-12pm (PT) / 1-3pm (ET).
Both Pro and traditional loops are available in my online shop here.
The class will be held online via Zoom and we very much look forward to seeing you July 15th. Details of how to access the workshop will be sent closer to the date.
A recording of the class will also be provided after the event by email, for all paying attendees. This recording will also be available to purchase in the Workshop Recordings section of my website after the event.
