Fun With 3-Floats Weaving Workshop with Deborah Cohen
Please join me in welcoming Deborah Cohen for this ingenious online workshop using skipped threads, or 'floats' to create a brilliantly contrasting and exciting weaving.
What happens when you crochet this pattern off the loom? Find out when we weave a potholder on the traditional 18-peg loom, using (almost) entirely 3-floats! This is a cheerful pattern, a bit quirky, slightly tricky, and a lot of fun to weave.
The workshop will take place via Zoom on Saturday, February 5th 2022, 1-3 pm (PST) /4-6 pm (EST).
Workshop participants will need to provide their own supplies. To take part in the event, you will need:
Traditional 18-peg loom
Knitting needle to make a shed (optional)
Crochet hook for binding off
36 loops: 14 black, 4 red, 4 orange, 4 yellow, 4 green, 4 blue, 4 purple. If you need to update your loop stash, a wide variety of colors are available in my store here.
Cost per attendee: $50
The workshop would suit weavers who already have basic potholder weaving skills.
Deborah Cohen a retired programmer/analyst, a gardener, spinner, and weaver. She is the author of the newly released book, In the Loop: Radical Potholder Patterns & Techniques.
The class will be held online via Zoom and we very much look forward to seeing you February 5th. Details of how to access the workshop will be sent closer to the date.
