In March 2025, I was delighted to welcome guest teacher Suzanne Hokanson to join me for an inspirational two-hour online workshop on the truly limitless possibilities of what materials you can use to weave with on your potholder loom.

After showing the wide range of weavings she's created, Suzanne coached participants to make their own unique weaving using materials they have at hand. Think of fabric strips, ribbon, raffia, novelty yarns, wire, metal etc. All these materials can be used to make a weaving that can be used as a trivet, a unique patch or pocket on a garment or even a wallhanging.

Suzanne also spoke about her series of 11 Potholder Pro weavings she created for a New York State Council on the Arts (NYSCA) funded exhibit called Plattsburgh Works: a handwoven celebration of local products and the workers who create them, which incorporated scraps from 11 different local manufacturers. She wove and embellished her weavings with everything from solder to aluminum tile edging, crystal and tire pieces, to inhaler gaskets and coated wire. She encourages you to apply for similar grants in your area to inspire your new art work. Oh, the possibilities!

This is the ideal workshop recording for those wanting to push the boundaries of what is traditionally possible in small loom weaving and who want to explore where their art can really take them.

Purchasing this workshop will provide you with a recording of the original online event, which you can save and watch as many times as you like.

We hope you enjoy this workshop recording. It will be emailed to you within 48 hours of purchasing this product.

Please note that workshop recordings are made available to the purchaser only and are not for resale, forwarding to others or sharing publicly in any way.
