Have you ever thought of expanding your weaving to include cotton fiber that YOU can make?! Do you have tee shirts that are not being worn, but are in great colors? Do you want to keep them from the landfill and save some money on weaving supplies?!

Please join me as I welcome guest teacher Linda Lutomski to lead us in an online workshop that will explore using tee shirt cotton to create "tarn" or "tee-shirt yarn". Linda will help you to discover how it can be used with loops, on its own, or with purchased tee yarn, allowing you to create a wonderful weaving material for yourself.

In this two hour class, you will start with a tee shirt and prepare your own yarn for weaving on a traditional potholder loom. Linda will talk about making potholders, coasters, trivets and rugs using the same materials, only in a different scale and with some adjustments to the preparation. She will share how alternative looms can be used for thicker or larger weaves, allowing you to continue your adventures with this versatile media beyond the class!

The workshop will take place via Zoom on Saturday, October 5th 2024, 10am-12pm (PT) / 1-3pm (ET).

Cost per attendee: $50

Attendees will need to provide their own materials. A full supply list will be provided when you have booked to take part. As a minimum, to take part in this class, you will need:

- A large cotton tee shirt, preferably without side seams
- Sharp fabric scissors
- A traditional-sized loom

The class will be held online via Zoom and we very much look forward to seeing you October 5th.  Details of how to access the workshop will be sent closer to the date.

If you aren't able to join the live workshop, don't forget that a recording of the class will also be provided after the event by email, for all paying attendees for you to watch at your leisure. This recording will also be available to purchase in the Workshop Recordings section of my website after the event.
