Workshop Recording: How to Explore Potholder Designs with Desmos - with Julie Hue
In November 2024, I was delighted to welcome guest teacher Julie Hue to join me for an online workshop explaining all about how to use the math program Desmos to help you chart potholder designs.
In this recording of the original live workshop, Julie demonstrates how to use Desmos to try loop colors, resize a chart to match your loom size, get row-by-row weaving instructions, and adjust the settings so the chart will look good on your device. You’ll also learn to make your own coloring shortcuts so you can change all the loop colors by changing just a few.
This is the ideal class for those who want to experiment more with their weaving work but who like having instructions to follow while they weave. It's also perfect for those who perhaps struggle to visualize their design ideas and want to see how a finished piece might look before starting out.
